MSMT Costumes

About Us

For more than 52 years Maine State Music Theatre has been bringing non-profit professional musical theatre to Maine in the summer months.  Now we are pleased to present our costume stock, acquired from the former Seaside Music Theatre in Daytona Beach, Florida in 2009. In an effort to maintain this incredible costume collection, MSMT was able to purchase the entire stock of high-quality costumes for more than ninety musicals.  The collection includes costumes for many of today’s hottest musicals including Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Cats, AIDA, Singin’ in the Rain. Seaside Music Theater had been a popular place to rent costumes among professional music theaters for years, and at MSMT Costumes, we are proud to be able to continue this tradition.

As a branch of Maine State Music Theatre, MSMT Costumes remains a non-profit organization, utilizing the expertise of two theatre professionals and the help of local volunteers.  During the past two and a half years, we’ve successfully incorporated MSMT’s costume stock in with Seaside Music Theatre’s original stock and can offer even more rental packages for shows such as Sweeney Todd, Chicago, The Drowsy Chaperone, Xanadu, and many others.

We are the host rental company to the original costumes from Broadway’s RENT, designed by Angela Wednt.  These costumes are nearly in the same condition from when they were purchased twenty years ago for the Broadway run and have been very well cared for. We also own and rent out the original costumes from London’s production of Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, designed by Tim Hatley.
